What is CoreFit?
CoreFit is an introduction to CrossFit. We teach all the basic movements (squatting, deadlift, overhead pressing) and focus on the foundations of good movement. We also encourage people to challenge themselves so that they continue to progress their fitness. For some people the CoreFit class will be a transitionary class to bridge the gap between inactivity and our regular CrossFit classes while for others CoreFit will be their long-term fitness program. We are good with either outcome!
The primary difference between our CrossFit classes and CoreFit is:
- No Olympic lifts.
- Limited barbell work.
- Nearly all the WODs are Every Minute on the Minute (EMOM) style.
- Core work is incorporated into every class.
Who Would Benefit from CoreFit?
The short answer is everyone! In our current CoreFit group, we have people from all ages with a range from 12 to mid-50s. We also have members with varying degrees of fitness. Some members were largely inactive before starting the class. CoreFit really is a great place for people to start their fitness journey!
